Challenge 52: Week 12 - Commissions Book

Well, that was a short, sharp taste of summer, wasn't it!  Did any of you get thunderstorms?!  We didn't get a really massive one, but there was thunder rumbling around on and off all day yesterday, some very loud, and a few downpours.  Poor Archie was terrified, at one point he was hiding curled up in the tiny space by my feet under the computer desk!  (For new readers or those who've forgotten, Archie is the dog!)

Some of you may have noticed my Commissions tab at the top of the page, which I am still filling up with custom pieces I have made for people in the past.  I wanted to include this on here because I am always happy to take custom orders, and I wanted people to be able to see other pieces I had personalised or designed and made from scratch for people in case they need any inspiration or want to see some slightly different pieces I make, for example wedding rings.  After my craft fair, I realised that I really needed something I could take with me, to show to visitors at the fairs I attend, so that they can also see these pieces.

To this end, I decided to make myself a commissions book, into which I will put photos and a short description of all my past commissions.  I started off with a blank, brown-paper covered album from Paperchase.  It's actually a photo album, but with self-adhesive pages, which is great because I can position and move the images/text around easily as I want them, and since most of my images are cropped square for using on here and on Folksy they wouldn't fit into a standard album anyway.  I decided to go for a monochrome black pattern, to fit in with my black display stands, and this is the end result.

Pattern look familiar?!  That would be because I adapted it from my blog background pattern, so that the book would link in with my website a bit.  It's not quite the same as my background pattern, but I think similar enough (apart from the colour obviously!) that you can see it's the same pattern.

For the writing, I keep a little scrapbook/sketchbook of fonts and writing styles I like, so that I can refer to them when I'm looking for something other than my usual handwriting for things like card greetings.  I think this style looks good with the curling floral pattern.
