Challenge 52: Week 3

Whoops, a day late, and so early on in the challenge!!  So, you may have seen that I completed my second challenge on Friday, if you missed it you can see the post here - I did my Folksy Friday about dog-related items, inspired by our very own Archie.

So, now for a new challenge!  It will have to be a small one again, as I have a part-time job at weekends which unfortunately means that I will be working the entire bank holiday weekend - yes, even Easter Sunday! - so I won't have much jewellery time.  However, as this is a blog challenge rather than specifically for jewellery I think it is a good excuse to try out some other challenges I can blog about, and I think this week is the perfect chance to do so.

Some of you loyal followers may remember that I did for a while have a 'Monday Munchies' portion of my blog, to share my love of baking (when I get the time!).  Well, having pondered the idea since Christmas, I finally gave in this week and treated myself to a Whoopie Pie book full of delicious-looking recipes.  For those of you who have never encountered these amazing little treats, a whoopie pie is sort of a cakey biscuit sandwich, basically.  The idea is said to have been started by the Amish in America, who came up with the idea of putting the icing (usually marshmallow) inside the cupcake rather than on top, to make them more transportable - the name is apparently from delighted children crying 'whoopie!' when they found one of these treats in their lunches!  I have promised my sister I will make some, and I think this will be a good way to make me stick to it - I can guarantee her whoopie pies within the week!  So, I will have a look through my book, pick a recipe, and bake some whoopie pies, and include some pictures on here to make you all drool!

Challenge number 3:  Bake whoopie pies, including photos as proof!
