Green Dragon Necklace

I was asked a little while ago by some friends of mine if I would make a piece of jewellery for one of their friends, someone who is a great jewellery lover and someone they had shown my work to and she really liked it.  We decided it would be best if I contacted their friend directly to discuss what she would like so that I could come up with something unique for her.

When we spoke, she mentioned that she really liked my Leaf Dragon pieces, and could I possibly make something along those lines, with a couple of other details.  I wanted do do something completely new as this piece was being made to order, and so I got my sketchbook out and started doodling!  The main thing seemed to be to keep the piece as a dragon, so I decided to work on a new dragon shape, something different from the ones I currently make.  Once I had that, I made the piece up using a different texture for its 'skin', and with the addition of a small green stone for the dragon's eye.  I also added a green bead onto the chain with the dragon, to match the eye stone.  This was the end result.

I was really pleased with this new dragon shape, and may make some more similar ones in the future, but sticking to my leaf-scale texture.  The bead goes really well with the colour of the eye.  Fortunately the recipient agreed, and was very pleased with her very own Green Dragon!
